About Millenium Handcraft Co-operative Society

I bring before you a story that resonates with the very essence of resilience and the indomitable human spirit. In 1999, a group of artisans came together, driven by a shared passion and the dream of showcasing their unique handcrafts to the world. This dream took shape as the Millennium Gallery, a cooperative society born from the hopes and talents of its founding members. These artisans, our fathers and mothers, have poured their hearts and souls into every piece they create. Their hands, weathered by years of dedication, have produced works of art that speak to our heritage and culture. Each carving, each piece, tells a story – a story of perseverance, of beauty, and of an unwavering commitment to their craft. Yet, despite the undeniable worth of their creations, these artisans remain trapped in the cruel grip of poverty. Their masterpieces, valued in the millions, lie unsold, gathering dust in the gallery. The fruits of their labor, which should have brought them prosperity, instead reflect a bitter irony – artisans who create treasures yet live in scarcity. The situation has grown dire. The younger generation, witnessing the struggles of their elders, are reluctant to embrace this heritage. They see the hardship, the unfulfilled promise of a better life, and turn away from the craft that once held so much promise. The legacy of the Millennium Gallery stands at a crossroads, its future hanging in the balance. KEPROBA will greatly boost this co-operative to greater hight.
