Rwathia Agrofarm is a horticultural, farming, processing and exporting company incorporated in Kenya. Our main products are fresh/frozen avocados, mango and fresh herbs. In addition, the company would offer technical support services and inputs to farmers as credit recoverable from produce supplied. Rwathia Agrofarm is embarking on a project of uplifting cereals farmers on a 2000 Acres Farm at Nyahururu by introducing them into farming avocados and up taking them for the export market. Rwathia Agrofarm is offering it’s 4 Acres Farm on the same Farm as a pilot farm for coordinating the implementation of the Avocado project. We have a projection of at least putting 1000 acres of the 2000 acres under avocado production. In order to boost production per acreage Rwathia Agrofarm target to mobilize 1,000 farmers to have on the least a single acre under avocado plantations. One acre will accommodate between 120 to 125 plants depending on the landscape. With a minimum 120 plants per acre Rwathia Agrofarm intend to supply 120,000 certified one-year-old Hass seedlings to these farmers. We will also be involved in the planting process by offering the requisite trainings during the planting session and dispatching qualified agronomist to oversee the exercise. The project will equip the farmers with skills needed to achieve certifiable standards (Global Gaps), and train farmers through programs to effectively implement certifiable practices for exportable avocados.
