Hamisa Zaja won the prestigious Institute of Peace (USIP) Women Building Peace Award for her contribution to the pursuit of peace and security in Kenya. She is the founder and chairperson of the Coast Association for Persons with Disabilities, a nongovernmental organization in Mombasa, Kenya.
