Call for Expression of Interest: ITC Market Analysis Tools Training

The Trade and Market Intelligence section of the International Trade Centre (ITC), through the MARKUP II programme under the auspices of the European Union, is organizing a capacity-building workshop on market analysis and trade-related information. This initiative builds on the success of Phase I, during which a network of certified trainers on ITC Market Analysis Tools was established in Tanzania in 2019. This network has since independently introduced over 250 companies across the country to data-driven export decision-making.

Under MARKUP II, ITC aims to establish and expand this certified trainer network across all six East African Community (EAC) member states. This network will play a vital role in fostering autonomy in trade advocacy and export market development. To achieve this, ITC is seeking candidates who share a vision of making trade market information accessible to all.

The programme offers 3 dynamic and progressive activities:

  1. 90-minute public webinar: How export success and trade development start with ITC Tools (January/February 2025)
  2. Special E-Learning courses on ITC Trade Map and Market Access Map (online: 2 courses over 3 weeks)
  3. Training of Trainers on ITC Trade Map and Market Access Map (in-person: 5 days, tentatively in April 2025)

By filling out the Expression of Interest (EOI) via this link https://surveys.intracen.org/response/G2tIYnFfRgYLZFRwUl15S0d-cnw, you could be selected to participate in the ITC capacity building programme and contribute to:

  • Building the capacity of trade advisors and experts on market access analysis and export research.
  • Establishing a network of certified trainers to empower the local trade community.
  • Raising awareness about export and diversification opportunities, both within the European Union and across other African economies.

The programme emphasizes knowledge transfer, local ownership, and collaboration. Together with existing and new certified trainers, including market specialists, professors, and trade experts, ITC aims to create a multiplier effect that benefits all stakeholders.

Note: The deadline for submitting the Expression of Interest is 28th January 2025.
