Kenya Tea Sector Marks 100 Years of Success
The Tea Board of Kenya (TBK), in collaboration with key stakeholders from the sector, is celebrating 100 years since the beginning of commercial tea cultivation in 1924. Grown predominantly in the highlands of Kenya, both west and east of the Rift Valley, the tea sector has significantly expanded, becoming the country’s leading export and the global market leader in the production and supply of black CTC tea.
The Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) joins the global community in recognizing the sector's crucial contribution to Kenya's socio-economic development and pledges its continued support in driving tea exports to new heights.
The centenary celebrations, organized by TBK, will feature various activities, including the Kenya Tea Summit from November 14th to 16th, 2024, at Sarova Whitesands Beach in Mombasa.
Let’s come together to celebrate our renowned tea by supporting both local consumption and exports. KARIBU CHAI!
