Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency hosted a delegation from West Africa, currently on a West Meets East Africa Trade Mission and Business Development Tour with the theme of unlocking AfCFTA opportunities for women and youth, leveraging regional value chain opportunities and business linkages.

The team led by Ms. Tokunbo Chiedu, CEO Compass Global Business Services underlined the importance of African nations doing business with each other as Africa has the solutions for current global challenges we are experiencing.

This is the first private sector-led initiative aimed at bringing the West African Business Associations to meet their Kenyan counterparts for discussion on how to catalyse trade in goods and services between Kenya and the west African region leveraging on the AfCFTA agreement.

The West African Mission to Kenya resonates well with the African Agenda of increasing Intra-Africa Trade leveraging on the AfCFTA framework. The Mission will provide the necessary impetus to drive the agenda of making AfCFTA a reality.

The Kenyan private sector is encouraged to forge networks and partnerships with the West African counterparts to strengthen and make better, the existing trade and business relations between our two regions.

There is need to invest in the youth to build their capacity in entrepreneurship, leveraging on their passion in technology and e-commerce to build the continent. Kenya is the leading technology and innovation hub in Africa.
