Logistics, Sustainability and Style: KEPROBA's Triple Focus at Textile Expo: Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week 2025.

KEPROBA Chairman Mr. Jaswinder Bedi, EBS, MBS, highlights Kenya’s textile value chain at Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week (ASFW).

The Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) played a pivotal role at the 4th Edition of the Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week, held at the Sarit Center Expo in Nairobi from April 24th to 26th, 2025. The event, themed "Unleashing the Power of Sustainable Innovation in the Textile and Leather Value Chains," brought together exhibitors from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Turkey, Germany, and Benin, highlighting Africa’s growing influence in the global fashion and textile industry.

KEPROBA’s participation underscored its commitment to elevating Kenyan-made products in international markets. Through its Made in Kenya initiative, the agency has empowered local textile and fashion brands to expand beyond borders, with notable success stories such as Vivo Activewear, which recently opened a retail store in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The fashion brand currently have 24 retail stores across Kenya, Uganda & Rwanda and over 360 employees, of which over 70% are women. This milestone exemplifies the growing global demand for high-quality Kenyan fashion.

Speaking during a panel discussion on East Africa Infrastructure and Logistics in the Textile and Leather Industries, KEPROBA’s Board Chairman, Mr. Jas Bedi, emphasized the critical role of logistics in driving export growth. "Efficient infrastructure and seamless market access are key to unlocking the full potential of Kenya’s textile and leather sectors," he stated. "Through strategic trade agreements in the US and Europe, KEPROBA is actively diversifying markets for Kenyan designers and manufacturers."

The expo served as a platform for Kenyan designers, leather artisans, and textile producers to showcase their craftsmanship while embracing sustainable practices. KEPROBA further supported exhibitors by offering trade information services, facilitating business development, and fostering market linkages to attract international buyers.

With Kenya’s fashion industry gaining global recognition, KEPROBA’s efforts continue to position the country as a hub for innovative, eco-conscious, and competitively priced apparel and leather goods. As the curtains close on this year’s Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week, the agency remains steadfast in its mission to propel Made in Kenya brands to even greater heights on the world stage.
