Made In Kenya Breakfast

KEPROBA Ag CEO Floice Mukabana address the retailers and Made in Kenya adoptees at the Made in Kenya breakfast.

The Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) hosted a Made in Kenya Breakfast meeting to discuss partnership opportunities with Kenyan retailers to leverage the benefits of the campaign on Tuesday 20th June 2023 at the Sarova Stanley Hotel in Nairobi.

The Made in Kenya initiative is a KEPROBA initiative that is aimed at:

  1. Enabling consumers locally and abroad to immediately identify a product as Kenyan and then associate the product with quality and authentic Kenyan value.
  2. To create a strong brand proposition for Kenyan-made goods and services cantered on quality and authenticity.
  3. To enhance the competitiveness of products made in Kenya in the local, regional and global markets.
  4. Strengthen Kenya’s position as a Made-in country Brand - Kenya seeks to position itself as the Industrial Hub.

KEPROBA aims at leveraging on the meeting to KEPROBA intends to partner with Kenyan outlets to brand their outlets as being retailers of Made In Kenya Products. The isles will be branded with the Made in Kenya logo and the Buy Kenya Build Kenya tagline.

This is directed at the customers who are being encouraged to look for and consume local products in line with the government’s agenda to promote local products and industries.

The Initiative will also help in bridging the Consumer awareness Gap by educating and raising awareness among consumers about the availability, benefits, and value of locally produced goods. Perception Gap by clarifying Some consumer’s misconceptions about the quality or variety of Kenyan-made products. Bridging market access by facilitating partnerships with retailers and creating avenues for local businesses to showcase and sell their products to a broader consumer base.

By addressing these gaps, the "Buy Kenya, Build Kenya" campaign aims to create a more supportive and conducive environment for local businesses to thrive, boost consumer confidence in local products, and contribute to the overall growth and development of the Kenyan economy.

KEPROBA has been keen on expanding market access for Kenya’s exports. The Agency has set up a robust e-portal platform that will link Kenyan exporters to buyers from across the world. The fully integrated and interactive portal will provide exporters, buyers and sellers an opportunity to showcase and trade their products globally. It will also be a reservoir of information for various stakeholders to influence trade, investments and positive nation brand.

The platform is part of the Agency’s strategy to leverage on information technology in the promotion of exports and marketing the country brand. The Agency seeks to adopt non-traditional means in export and country marketing away from physical exhibition even beyond COVID -19 era.
