Notification of adjustment of the Administration Department of Inspection and Quarantine for primary edible agricultural products

The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) has adjusted the Administration Department of Inspection and Quarantine for some primary edible agricultural products, to coordinate the prevention and control of epidemics involving imported plants.

In a notification to the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in China, the GACC’s Department of Animal and Plant Quarantine (DAPQ) will now be responsible for beans, fresh vegetables, plant seasonings, edible grains, dried beans, oil plants and Chinese traditional medicines.

The GACC further informs as follows:

  • The overseas manufacturers of the above mentioned primary edible agricultural products will no longer be registered through the China Import Food Enterprise Registration System (CIFER). The relevant enterprise registration information and application materials shall be submitted to DAPQ by letter or email by the official competent department of the exporting countries namely the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Kenya.   • The qualification of the manufacturers on the said edible agricultural products already registered in the CIFER system shall remain valid. The information on the registered enterprises is available on the sub-site of the DAPQ under the GACC http://dzs.custom.gov.cn

Potential and existing exporters are hereby informed to understand and comply to these requirements.
