The European Union (EU) and the East African Community (EAC) are jointly hosting an upcoming online webinar under the Market Access Upgrade Programme (MARKUP II). Scheduled for the 14th of June 2024, from 10:00 to 12:00 East Africa Time (UTC +3), this webinar is specifically designed for representatives of Business Support Organizations (BSOs) and will be held on Microsoft Teams.
MARKUP II, funded by the EU, is an initiative aimed at fostering economic development within the EAC by enhancing sustainable intra-African and EU-Africa trade. This program focuses on improving livelihoods, employment, and export competitiveness for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). It supports the development of key export-oriented value chains and provides institutional support across the six MARKUP II EAC partner countries. The program seeks to promote exports and investment by addressing trade barriers, enhancing value addition, ensuring quality compliance, facilitating trade, and enabling technology transfer.
The International Trade Centre (ITC), in collaboration with the EAC Secretariat and national partners, is organizing this training session to boost the online visibility of agribusinesses through digital channels. The session will cover essential principles of branding, storytelling, and digital communication, helping institutions develop professional digital channels aimed at an international audience. Participants will gain insights into the significance of digital channels in connecting with and maintaining relationships with international buyers.
Participants from EAC member states will have the opportunity to engage with ITC experts from Geneva, discussing strategies to enhance their digital presence and reach a global market.
