KEPROBA presides over the Open Trade Gate Sweden (OTGS) flag Ceremony.

Nairobi, April 19th, 2023: The Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency is set to preside the Open Gate Sweden (OTGS) flag off ceremony on Wednesday 19th April 2023 in its offices at Anniversary towers, Nairobi.

The partnership between the National Board of Trade Sweden (OTGS) and Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency was established in 2019 when KEPROBA expressed interest in collaborating on a trade promotion project that would improve Kenya’s exports to Sweden and the Nordic states.

The Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency and the National Board of Trade Sweden through their pre-studies settled on three promising products namely nuts and seeds, herbs and spices, and tea.

The positive outcome of the collaboration was the of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sweden and Kenya on areas of trade and investment with the purpose of promoting bilateral trade between the two nations.

Kenya’s exports to Sweden and the Nordic Market have been relatively low due various barriers to trade such as inadequate market information, inadequate market access, limited trade networks and poor control measures. Kenya through the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency is developing marketing strategies to overcome these hurdles and increase Kenya’s exports to the Nordic states hence maximizing the trade benefits.
