Export Trade Information Services
Trade Advisory Services
The Agency’s Trade Advisory Services (TAS) department provides accurate, quality and timely export trade and branding information to the business community. The export trade information ranges from specified trade data like country or product statistics, export potential, export procedures to matters of trade regulations etc. These export market and branding information is sourced from reputable institutions both within and without the country. The institutions within Kenya include government ministries, regulating agencies and departments. Trade Support Institutions outside the country include International Trade Centre (ITC), World Trade Organization (WTO), Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), Academia amongst others.
The Agency disseminates the customised information through Business Counselling Services to over 7000 clients who are either potential or existing exporters. This is done at the Agency’s offices through a face-to-face interaction with those who walk in, through telephone conversations, emails and social media platforms.
To keep the business community informed on current market trends, trade events and changes in the business environment, the Agency develops and disseminates Trade Alert Bulletin every month.
The Agency also undertakes the Outreach Programme which involves close interaction between Agency staff with the producers and exporters by visiting them at their premises or online. Through this programme some of the supply chain challenges are identified and appropriate interventions within the Agency’s mandate are addressed. This is a continuous exercise that enables the Agency identify needs and formulate appropriate measures to address them.
