Kenyan-born Huldah Momanyi wins Minnesota House Representative seat
Huldah Hiltsley Momanyi, a United States based woman from Nyamira County, has made history after winning a seat in Minnesota House of Representative; becoming the first Kenyan-born politician to hold office in the US. Vying on a Democratic Farmer Labor (DFL) Party, she garnered 64.78 per cent (10,005) votes, with her rival, Republican Brad Olson receiving 34.95 per cent. Following her victory, Momanyi lauded the American citizens for their vote of confidence in her; promising to be the voice of change.
