Kisii

• They are known for soapstone carvings, basketry and pottery. The stone is mined and carved in Tabaka, South Mugirango, where several families specialize in this art. The craft attracts tourists and generates income for the community.
• The kisii are known for their farming  of bananas which are traced to their areas
• The favorite instrument among the Kisii is the obokhano (lyre) in their traditional music

Luo

• The Luo people are well known for their fishing activities and are believed to be the first community to fish by the Lake Victoria
• The Luo preserve some of their ritualistic cultural practices especially burial rites depending on how a person dies. Initiation rituals such as removing of the lower six teeth and tattooing of the body have however been phased out with time
• The Luo community are in particular known for their musical skills and instruments such as the Nyatiti particularly unique to them. • Their oral traditions have led to the preservation of some ancient notable personalities among the Luo. This includes LwandaMagere and Gor Mahia whom a Kenyan Football team is named after

Ilchamus

• They are the smallest ethnic group in Kenya settled near the Kokwa island in Lake Baringo
• Materials such as beadwork (necklaces, bracelets, headgears, and beaded cloths), woodcarving (clubs/rungu, bows and traditional stool) and blacksmith works (spears, swords and arrows) are popularly made among the illchamus
• They share many practical cultural practices as the other Maa Speakers (Samburu, Maasai)
